The church is discovering new ways of 'being church' and we are all learning as we go along. As a start I will post the service for each Sunday so that we can keep in step with the set readings and - if you can bear it - include a short thought from me instead of a 10-minute sermon - there's a bonus! I will celebrate the Eucharist at 9:00 a.m. each Sunday and you can join me on Zoom. We will also have a service of the Word at 10:30am on Sunday and you can also join this Zoom service. If you are not on Zoom you may like to pause at these times to reflect.
This prayer may help:
Lord Jesus, we cannot meet together
but we can meet with you always.
You know my heart and how I would want
to receive you in the Holy Communion
Yet you are now present with me by your Spirit.
Thank you for this communion with you.
Bless my brothers and sisters
in the faith throughout the world,
and have mercy on all people
at this time, through your saving grace.
With my prayers
The Diocese of Chichester with Together in Sussex are launching Hearing You, a new pastoral phone line to enable the people of Sussex to feel connected and supported.
At this time when many of us are anxious about the spread and implications of Coronavirus here are documents with prayers for any who are having to self isolate or know people who are. There are general prayers and scripture readings covering the next few weeks. In the meantime, we hold in our prayers those who have contracted the virus, and their family and friends, as well as those in the medical profession who are urgently seeking a vaccine and caring for those already affected.
